There is also an operations branch in Durban, KwaZulu Natal. This is the main hub of our transport operations and we have a complement of over 40 managerial and operational staff members, each one an experienced specialist in his field. The company employs a reliable and stable workforce of more than 220 drivers, escort drivers, workshop and yard assistants. This branch provides an operational base to ensure the efficient loading and moving of transport loads to and from the Kwazulu Natal region. Our Durban staff makes sure that all trucks are loaded and move on time and that all the necessary paper work, permits and other regulatory import/export requirements accompany each load so that there are no delays. There is a fleet service depot in Durban to make sure that our vehicles are kept running at maximum efficiency. We strongly believe that it is our people who make Transcor the success it is today. They are the primary reason that Transcor has been able to establish and maintain excellent long-term relationships with all of our clients. We are justifiably proud of our loyal and stable workforce of drivers and escort drivers. Our fleet of flexible truck, trailer and multi-axle combinations, range from 1 ton up to 220 tons enable us to choose the most efficient and practical method for the safe transporting of your loads. For instance, the running of self-loading multi-axle combinations, which have loading capacity of up to 220 tons, adds greater flexibility to our clients that regularly move extremely heavy earth-moving machinery, but require stripping them to meet current requirements. Transcor has introduced a new fleet of between 1 and 8 ton trucks to limit the use of sub-contractors ensuring that control and meticulous services is rendered to our clients. Transcor operates its own escort fleet of over 75 escort vans as well as service vehicles to compliment the fleet. Qualified Load supervisors are present, from the start to the finish of a project, when a specialized load requires their presence. Transcor is firmly rooted in the renewable energy sector, offering tailored transport solutions to suit our clients’ needs. With the increasing weight, size and length of wind turbines and their component parts, innovative transport solutions are needed. This includes meeting the specific heavy-load long haul requirements of the renewables sector, incorporating route planning and liaising with the necessary authorities on any special needs necessitated by an extra large and length load; and having a team on hand to see the project through to the end.
