Our Voltage Dip Proofing Inverter (DPI) product line is ideal for for industrial applications that require protection against momentary interruptions and sags.It offers a simple cost effective solution that is easy to integrate into OEM products or retrofit to existing equipment. Note that in order achieve the support time needed to match your application it is necessary to select a DPI of the correct size based on supply voltage, load current & power factor for the supported load. Designed to be maintenance free for harsh industrial environments. Unlike the DPI the VDC does not employ energy storage technology so the device is not suitable for applications where there are momentary interruptions or sags below 50% of the nominal supply voltage. Economic solution for applications where there are supply voltage dips only. Earthing must be solid and reliable for electrical installations to be safe. For this reason, machinery is earthed via the supply cable, using either a copper conductor of the cable or the armour. If there is a break or high resistance fault in the earth return the voltage developed could be fatal to personnel exposed to this hazard. Continuous monitoring of the earth bond is imperative if safety standards are to be maintained. A two wire remote module is used to detect a short between the pilot wire and earth. The measuring signal is intrinsically safe and gases such as methane or hydrogen cannot be ignited by it. If both sensing and remote control functions are required a three wire remote module must be used. In the early 1980’s it was realized that there was a growing need for a device that would harden the control gear used in continuous industrial processes against the disruptive effects of momentary voltage dips and outages. It was during this period that the technology known as Voltage Dip Proofing was developed. During the early 1970’s ESKOM installed auto re- close systems on auxiliary system drives but found them ineffective, and although they had UPS’s on their computer equipment, wanted specialized protection for the sensitive equipment in their motor control centers and switchboards.
