It has grown from the owner Eugene Jacobs patroling the streets with his bicycle to today being a company that employs over 450 people. Protective Force Security is based in Alberton and since 1989.

The roots of the company dates back to 1989 when Eugene Jacobs started patrolling the streets of Brackenhurst at night on his bicycle. Later on he rented his father’s car at night and paid his school friends to do his shifts. That was the start of what is today known as Protective Force. At this point in time his mother offered to manage the base stations when Eugene was at school. The business just grew from strength to strength and so Eugene started with the guarding division, subsequently he purchased about 3 other smaller security companies (with different names) but decided to stick with Protective Force Security. About four years ago he decided that Protective Force should diversify and that was when the cleaning, landscaping and maintenance divisions were born. Never before has the importance of security in both the Commercial & Residential sectors been more obvious than today. From full time guards to armed response, we have it all! The rapid evolution of technology has shaken the guarding sector into professionalism and placed cost effective security measures at the fingertips of every intelligent manager. At Protective Force we believe that placing our highly trained guards at your premises is a great start, but that is not where our responsibility should end. At Protective Force, we aim to always be proactive. Even though we have a dedicated armed response team for an emergency, we believe that preventing crime is preferable to reacting to it. Patrol officers are required to scan the disc that we install on your premises in order to log and prove that they were in fact at your gate patrolling. This is just one of the many ways in which we use technology to make sure that you receive nothing but excellent service. The aim of our neighbourhood watch is to achieve all round safer neighbourhoods.
