We at Jolly Dee’s Playshop strive towards creating a happy and harmonious environment for all children attending our school, regardless of race, creed or religion. We promise to love unconditionally and without prejudice, endeavour to fulfil the children’s emotional needs and work towards gaining trust and building relationships while providing quality pre-school education. Jolly Dee’s Playshop was established in 1981, growing from a small group of 6 children to what it is today. Jolly Dee’s philosophy is to maintain classes that are small enough to ensure that each child receives individual care and attention. A structured cross-curriculum thematic and interactive teaching approach is delivered by a team of qualified and motivated teachers willing to go the extra mile for the children in their care. Jolly Dee’s Playshop also offers an assisted learning program THE STARTING BLOCKS assists children who need a form of learning support to better cope with the formal schooling requirements. An individualised program will be developed for your child and support will be provided in an individual learning session and then also carried over into the classroom. Parents will be required to enrol their child in this program at an additional fee. THERAPY Jolly Dee’s Playshop offers you the convenience of having both a SPEECH THERAPIST and OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS on site. Therapies are provided during the school morning or at a time of your convenience. We run a structured morning which includes discussion and music rings, cognitive and perceptual time. Fine motor and creative skills and a fair amount of free and fantasy play. It is important to keep in mind that learning takes place through discussion, full participation and interaction with the learners and adults in the class, we therefore keep this at the forefront of our planning and preparation at this age. The learners in this class spend their mornings learning, discussing, problem solving and developing their gross motor, fine motor and cognitive skills. Language development, co-operative play and creativity are also an integral part of the day. We tackle the important pre Maths and Pre reading and fine motor skills. Focus on developing and nurturing a confident self image and allow the learners to express themselves in a secure environment. This age group is the foundation to what we know will be a happy and successful start to their school careers.
