Veld Architects is a design consultancy studio which is based in Lanseria. A key consideration for all our projects is that it is rooted in the sustainable design ethos. As a young and dynamic design studio our main objective is to strive for excellence in design, which is generated from a sensitive approach to the context and reflects the individual client requirements. At Veld Architects we value quality rather than quantity to ensure that each project gets the individual attention it deserves from the start to the completion of the project. Refurbishing of existing buildings in holistic manner to tweak existing spaces and creatively solve design related complications. The interior design component at Veld Architects was founded for the sole purpose of being able to offer clients a seamless design where the Architect is able to ensure that the Interiors are designed and detailed to complement the Architecture. We specialize in customization and quality designed manufactured items to the individuals’ specifications. The scope of work encapsulates detailed design and specification of all interior elements including: kitchen, bathrooms, staircases, lighting, ceilings, flooring and wall finishes. Veld Architects are passionate about creating customized bespoke cabinetry, cupboards and vanities that are timeless and unique. We believe in only using the best quality materials at our disposal. Veld Architects expertise lies in the design of exclusive contemporary residences and selective projects. We design and detail a building in such a way that it remains true to its context and is responsible towards the environment in keeping with our design ethos that is rooted in Architectural Integrity. Situated in Monaghan Farm on the hill with mostly southern views. The brief of minimalist, simplistic, clean-lined design was successfully interpreted through the use of simplistic design solutions. This home is cradled on the northern slope of Drum Village in Monaghan Farm. The home explores solid and void forms whilst being sensitive to the context in terms of views and functionality. Courtyard living encourages the inhabitants to experience an absence of distinction between inside and outside. This home pays homage to environmentally sound principles. Careful consideration was employed to create a home that fulfilled the brief of the owners who wanted a central living area with a large veranda. Living around a central veranda finds its roots deeply etched in the South African context and this established the core success of this project. A testimony to the timelessness and versatility of Mid-Century Modern Architecture this steel and glass structure rests amiably in the rolling veld environs of Gauteng’s Monaghan farm. The design is strongly rooted in the sustainable ethos while the interior continues the Architectural language throughout the house. The home encapsulates a feeling of living outdoors within. The sequential build of spaces around these courtyards are implicit to the African spatial model.
