FABRI was born in Portugal in 1984 and since then its products are a symbol of quality.

Premium custom-designed and tailor made kitchens, bathrooms and closets. Design, quality, elegance and exclusivity are values associated with Fabri brand since its foundation. Design, quality, elegance and exclusivity are, since the beginning, values associated with the Fabri brand. Built from its founders desire to provide the Portuguese market with kitchens of excellence, the Fabri name is nowadays associated with the best that is made in design and production of kitchens in the oldest european country. But this journey, which started in 1984, has more than kitchens on its path. 33 years after foundation, from the Fabri design studios, leave everyday, closets, bathrooms and a whole range of custom designed furniture. A joint effort of a multidisciplinary team that creates and develops residential design solutions personalised to each client, packed with functionality and innovation. As a recognition of their uniqueness, the company won the African Corporate Excellence Awards 2015 for Best Built-in Furniture Design Company in Gauteng and more recently was considered one of the 2016’s Most Innovative Companies in South Africa within the 2016 African Business Awards. The intrinsic values of the brand, result from an intense research activity. A production unit which combines the efficiency of a state-of-art assembly line with the quality and customization of manual labor. 2700 square meters of technology combined with hand crafted work, designed within the European standards of safety and environmental protection. At that time, if an individual wanted a quality kitchen with a good design, they would had to have gone for imported kitchens. Today, when we start a project we are able to supply the kitchen, furniture for the bathroom, together with wardrobes and closets. That was the dream: to grow solidly, increasing the quality and design. The investment in your own manufacturing unit is a differentiating factor? The success came in a short amount of time, because the customers realised that what we created was very different from what the other companies in Portugal were able to supply at that time. The design continues to be the core strategy of Fabri? The entry of the designer, Inês Sabino into Fabri was an important factor, as she assisted with the creativity and design of the brand. She added value in terms of innovation and creation. We should be giving younger people a chance, as they have the ability to bring fresh ideas. Our market lived through a difficult time, but we held a solid foundation, despite the crisis in the construction sector, because there was something that has never been forgotten: the private client. Each customer is unique; to whom we ask questions, understand their needs and their personal taste. It was then that a possibility in South Africa emerged. We saw that it was a promising market and we decided to enter this space with our product and philosophy. The public realises that we have quality, design and exclusivity and it has been a success. We’ve been working in almost every region of the world. At first this wasn’t part of our goals, but our sustained growth had allowed us to see that we had possibilities to export and even to dignify our country as manufacturers.
