EON was established in 1998 as Y2k Solutions Africa and has operated in the African market since then. We have successfully completed projects in more than 15 sub-Saharan countries, although most of our projects have been in South Africa. We have a proud African heritage and we have proven that we understand the African market extremely well. Although EON serves the community at large through the work we do in the infrastructure space, we are also very serious about making a direct contribution to society through our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives. We are involved with selected charities that we believe are really making a meaningful difference to South Africa. As such we are focusing the bulk of our CSI towards children and their education. We have carefully selected the charities listed below to ensure that the people involved with these charities share our passion for long-term results. We encourage our staff to be closely involved with our selected charities so that they can spread the EON Effect there too. Please take the time to read about the charities we support by following the links provided below. They provide bursaries to children from disadvantaged communities and help them become successful. Some of EON’s partners act as mentors to these students and provide them with additional things they require but cannot afford, such as text books and technical learning aids. Footprints looks after more than 30 children who have been discarded by society and provides them with a safe home and a good education. Footprints has successfully helped children overcome the most heart-breaking circumstances and enables these amazing young people to start making a contribution to South Africa. EON is very proud to be associated with Footprints. We were struck by the selfless sacrifice the people at Little Eden make on a daily basis to help mentally disabled children. Many of the children are severely disabled and some have been neglected by society, or have families that are unable to support them. Through EON’s contributions, and the help of many other companies and people in South Africa, Little Eden is ensuring that these children have a good quality of life in a loving environment. The home’s primary function is to provide these children with all the basic needs: security, stability, food, clothing, healthiness, housing and education. Jacaranda also organises activities with a therapeutic undertone as they are responsible for the protection, care and development of all the children in their care. EON has been involved with Jacaranda Children’s Home since 2009 and is committed to supporting the home in the care of their children. Other charity organisations supported by EON include Make a Difference (MAD), The Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Association, and the SPCA.
