He founded Emerging Sun in 2005 to help corporate and government clients maximize their Return on IT investments by reducing costs and improving business performance. Mark also built the African operations of Emerging Sun based in Johannesburg, South Africa, focused on enabling global clients to pursue opportunities and expand their footprint across Africa. Mark’s specialties include strategic sourcing, procurement transformation, corporate strategy, operational improvement, program management, financial modeling, portfolio analysis, and business planning. He has managed numerous engagements for private and public sector entities, leading diverse project teams to generate millions of dollars in tangible value. Each article focuses on innovative concepts to help IT organizations improve their Return on IT. Prior to starting Emerging Sun, Mark has several years of consulting experience with leading firms including A.T. Kearney. He has also served as a senior manager with Fannie Mae, where he led technology sourcing projects and negotiated large supplier contracts within the company’s IT department. Mark has an MBA from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
