blu_line are specialist kitchen architects, offering locally designed and manufactured kitchens for a niche clientele. the core focus is on functionality, ensuring a relational kitchen environment. their intention being, to produce custom designed kitchens that would meet the functional demands of modern living, while endeavouring to create an experience that would be born and maintained through consistent communication and professional interaction. fifteen years ago we had a vision; that we could offer a different approach to the then standard perspective on local kitchen design. we chose therefore, to ensure that each design was first and foremost functional, ensuring the demands of modern living were met, combined with the need to customise every aspect of the kitchen to suit our clients needs. only as the years progressed, would we see how important this focus would be in ensuring blu_line could offer a product that would meet the high calling that modern architecture would eventually place on this critical living space. blu_line has always had a strong focus on design, ensuring an authentic interpretation of each and every living space. the last decade has seen the country move towards open plan living architecture, with modern design leading the way. becuase of this, blu_line was poised to take the necessary steps towards establishing ourselves as a serious competitor in the premium segment of the kitchen market. from our inception in 2002, blu_line operated in a very boutique fashion, with a showroom on the border of houghton. this allowed the brand to slowly gain momentum, steadily developing a customised product that would eventually compete head to head with leading international brands. 2010 then saw the opening of our showroom in design quarter, fourways and from there, due to blu_line’s already established reputation for modern, functional designs and consistent communication throughout the process, we quickly moved into a position of authority and weight in the industry. due to increased exposure and awareness, more clients were able to see the value in using a local company that was able to offer imported materials, locally manufactured and customised for south african architecture. this was combined with the fact that blu_line was able to offer product and workmanship guarantees along with a personal service call programme never before seen in this country. at the beginning of 2016, we launched an entirely new factory that would house the latest machinery enabling a manufacturing facility that could produce the entire blu_line product. this set up has facilitated the launch of the blu_line contracts division, setting us up to serve high end developments and projects all over africa. in 2017 then, we completed what would be the culmination of over 15 years of research, experience and passion showcased in our new showroom in bryanston, johannesburg. boasting over 600sqm, this two-storey building of kitchen architecture allows every client to experience their story being told as they discover the latest materials, textures and designs. the continued focus will remain on not only a customised product, but also on delivering a hassle-free experience for every client, ensuring that personal touch runs through every part of the blu_line process.
